Built to answer one question
Is this AI tool worth what we pay for it? Engineering leaders get asked that at every renewal, with only vendor dashboards and seat counts to go on. We built Backlight to answer it from your own commits, pull requests, and AI tool usage.
Clear about what is an estimate
Some figures come straight from your vendors, like seat counts. Others are estimates, including some seat costs and whether a change was AI-assisted. Headline figures come with a note on how they are calculated, and the dashboard says when there isn't enough data yet to trust a number.
No vendor pays us
Backlight has no commercial or partner relationship with any AI coding vendor, so we can report what your data shows, whichever tool comes out ahead.
